My review strategy for the fund practitioner exam: I went through the book once, then recorded the knowledge points I found challenging. Before the exam, I briefly reviewed these notes, which gave me confidence. After the exam, I realized that we should build more intuitions for the difficult concepts - don't force yourself to understand everything completely.
